UPPER MERION AREA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONMission Statement
The Upper Merion Area Educational Foundation (UMAEF) is committed to the continuing advancement of public education in the Upper Merion Area School District, by providing funds for educational programs and activities through engagement and collaboration with parents, school staff, businesses, and community members, so that every child is given the opportunity to thrive in a rigorous, engaging, and dynamic environment.
We will achieve our mission by generating independent funding and developing community partnerships to recognize and encourage student and staff innovation and excellence. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, funded through donations and annual fundraising events. The purpose of the Foundation is to offer grants to teachers in the Upper Merion Area School District, via an application process, that supplement as well as complement basic educational programs in the areas of Technology, Arts, Scholastic Enhancement and Cultural Enrichment.
We are looking for those in our community who are passionate about improving public schools and the education of our children. If you are interested in joining the Foundation as a board member or just want to volunteer your skills and time for specific events or activities, please contact us at UMAEFinfo@gmail.com.

We would like to thank everyone who participated, volunteered, and/or donated to our 5th Annual Viking 5K & Family Fun Run. It was fantastic to see so many members of the community coming out for a great run and to support our schools.
Thanks to our sponsors, local businesses and all those who donated to our Foundation. The list is available on the race website. We raised over $14,000, the most successful since we started this race 4 years ago! The money will go directly to teacher-initiated projects benefitting students in all seven schools of the Upper Merion Area School District!
The Viking 5K would not have been possible without our volunteers, and we want to extend our appreciations to the Upper Merion Cross Country team and all the volunteers who helped out at the race. Finally, we want to congratulate the winner of the elementary school classroom competition: Mrs. Beers’ class at Roberts, with 28 registrants! Wow! Mrs. Beers’ first grade class will get a cool Kona Ice party donated by Kona Ice KoP!
Visit us on Facebook to get the latest about our Foundation and fundraising events. If you are interested in joining our Board or volunteering at our future events, please email UMAEFinfo@gmail.com.
Thank you again and have a great summer!
