Anchored In Achievement: Viking Showcase
The Upper Merion Area High School Link Crew program is a vital component of the school's orientation and transition process for incoming ninth-grade students. Designed to foster a welcoming and supportive environment, Link Crew pairs ninth-graders with trained upperclassmen mentors known as Link Crew Leaders. These mentors, carefully selected and trained, provide guidance, support, and a sense of belonging to new students. By creating a structured system of support, Link Crew helps ninth-graders navigate the challenges and excitement of high school life. Studies have consistently shown that a positive first-year experience can significantly impact a student's overall success. Link Crew's focus on student-led mentorship and its emphasis on building strong relationships contribute to creating a welcoming and inclusive school culture.
Each month at the School Board Business Meeting, a different program throughout the District will be spotlighted. The Link Crew was our first spotlight and you can see their full presentation 3:30 into the meeting at the link below!
