UM Elementary Math Team Ties For 1st In The Nation!

Congratulations to Upper Merion’s National Champion 4th Grade Continental Math League Team. This year’s team was unique since it was made up of students from Candlebrook, Caley, Roberts and the Virtual Academy.  The team scored a perfect 180 out of 180 to end up being tied for first place as “National Winners” for the 2020-21 season.  No team associated with Upper Merion Area School District has achieved this accomplishment before.  In addition, the team had some incredible individual student performances.  The following students were recognized by the Continental Math League for their individual efforts.

Arjun Ahluwalia (Caley ES)- National Student Leader (30 out of 30 problems correct)

Eshan Pathan (Caley ES)-Region 3 Student Leader (29/30)
Aaron Varam (Caley ES)-Region 3 Student Leader (29/30)
Gabriella Confino (Candlebrook ES)- Region 3 Student Leader (29/30)

Vansh Jain (Caley ES)-Honorable Mention (28/30)
Arwen Jones (Candlebrook ES)-Honorable Mention (28/30)
Oreo Akinlotan (Virtual Academy/Candlebrook)-Honorable Mention (28/30)
