Upper Merion Area High School has been named a National Banner Unified Championhip School. UM is one of only 2 schools in Montgomery County and 10 schools in the state to receive the honor. The HS met ten separate standards of excellence for being inclusive when it comes to sports and leadership activities for ALL students. According to the Special Olympics website, a banner school:
"Has an inclusive school climate and exudes a sense of collaboration, engagement and respect for all members of the student body and staff."
