UM District's Health & Wellness Policy

This policy has been phased in over several years.  This policy requires changes in school and classroom parties and celebrations.  Instead of traditional cakes, cupcakes, soda and candy being brought in for birthdays and other celebrations please make sure the snacks you send in are nutritious.  Here is a list of the healthy alternatives you can choose from.  Also, feel free to donate a new book, playground equipment (i.e. jump rope, kickball, etc.), or board game as an alternative to bringing in snacks.

Also, please be respectful of students who have food allergies before you send in snacks.  Here is a list of peanut and tree nut safe snacks:  http://snacksafely.com/snacklist.pdf
