My Policies and Procedures
Required Materials;
- Mead notebook.
- Pen, Pencil, Colored Pencils, ear buds or headphones.
- iPad
Homework:
- Homework is an essential part of any course. Homework reinforces information and skills learned in class. Research shows that when a student reviews the material covered in class that day, concept retention is about 80%. Waiting one night shows retention drops to 60%. Additionally, homework provides new challenges allowing for deeper levels of understanding. Remember, practice does make perfect.
Late Homework:
- The intention of homework is to be practiced at home and be prepared and ready with questions. Therefore, homework will not be accepted late unless otherwise arranged. For example; Forgiveness Friday.
Being Absent:
- Students are responsible for handing in assignments and obtaining missed work when absent due to music, field trips, appointments, etc...
- Students who are absent will be expected to hand in work the following day. If a student is absent one day, they will have one day to make it up. Two days absent, two days to make it up, etc...
- Check the schoology website for any missed materials/assignments. Also, have a contact that is in your class that you will get your missed assignments from. There is no reason to come to class unprepared. Be proactive!
- If a student is absent for a test or quiz, they will be expected to make up that test when they return.
Grading:
- The grading categories are as followed: Classwork, Homework, Projects, and Tests. Points will accumulate in all four categories. Homework will be a major part of a student's grade. Students who work hard will not only learn more, they will also achieve great success. Grades will be determined by the number of points earned divided by the total number of possible points.
A= 90-100% B= 80-89% C= 70-79% D= 65-69%
