My name is Mrs. Mapson and this is my third year teaching at Upper Merion High School. I will be teaching College Prep and Honors Algebra II this school year as well as AP Calculus BC. I also help coach the girls cross country team.

Prior to teaching at UMHS, I taught for three years in Maryland. I received my Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and my secondary education license from Albright College. I am currently working on attaining my MS in Educational Innovation and Technology with a specialization in the 1:1 classroom environment through Capella University.

I love to run and spend my weekends training for endurance events. I have completed 2 marathons, roughly a dozen half marathons, and a trail 50k.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and try to read a bit every day and love to get book suggestions from my students. This year, I challenged myself to read the entire original Nancy Drew series that my mom collected as a child and so far I've finished 36 of the 56 book series. I also love to cook and making good food to share with friends and family.

This summer I spent a lot of time hanging out with our boxer/hound puppy, Lincoln. His favorite part of the summer was getting to hang out with the cross country team at Valley Forge National Park.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you have. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of my students and having a great year at UMHS!
