My name is Mrs. Mapson and this is my fourth year teaching at Upper Merion High School. I will be teaching College Prep and Honors Algebra II this school year as well as AP Calculus BC. I am also the assistant cross country coach.

Prior to teaching at UMHS, I taught for three years in Maryland. I received my Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and my secondary education license from Albright College. I am currently working on attaining my MS in Educational Innovation and Technology with a specialization in the 1:1 classroom environment through Capella University and will be finished my degree mid-September 2020.

I love to run and spend my weekends training for endurance events. I have completed 2 marathons, roughly a dozen half marathons, and a trail 50k. I am currently training for my second 50k trail race, which will hopefully take place in December.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and try to read a bit every day and love to get book suggestions from my students. This year, I challenged myself to reread the Harry Potter series and I loved revisiting these books! I also love to cook and bake good food to share with friends and family.

This summer I spent a lot of time hanging out with our two rescue dogs. We have a boxer/hound mix named Lincoln and a cattle dog mix named Tofu. We moved into our first home a week before the start of the new school year and I've been enjoying getting to watch them run around our new backyard!

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you have. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of my students and having a great year (virtually) at UMHS!
