Guten Tag!  I am very excited to begin teaching German at the middle school this school year.  I completed my undergraduate degree at Bloomsburg University and then continued my education at University of Kentucky, receiving my Masters degree in German Studies as well as my ESL Certification.  Before coming to Upper Merion, I taught high school in Abington Heights School District for one year.

My love for the German language began when I was in middle school, so I hope to give my students the type of experiences that I had during my beginning years of learning a language.  In high school, I went on a school-sponsored trip to Germany and stayed with host families as well as had my first real experience with the German culture.  This trip is what caused me to decide to become a German teacher, so I am a huge advocate of traveling abroad!  I stayed with a host family in Salzgitter (Northern Germany) as well as Aalen (Southern Germany) during my high school trip.  I also spent a semester abroad in Jena, Germany studying Deutsch als Fremdsprache, in college.

When I am not teaching or planning lessons, I enjoy reading, cooking, and binge watching crime dramas on Netflix.  Being around my family and friends is very important to me, which is why I ultimately ended up moving back towards Philadelphia from Scranton.

A note to parents:  I check my email and voicemail daily.  Email is the best form of communication between us.  You can expect a response from me within a day.
