About Me!

Teaching Experience:

Before coming to Gulph for the 2018-2019 school year, I taught first grade at Bridgeport Elementary School for 4 years and first grade at Candlebrook Elementary School for 1 year.  This will be my sixth year teaching first grade and I absolutely love working with this age group.  For the past two years, I have been piloting a co-teaching model with an ESL specialist and learned a lot about working with our ESL students.  I saw a lot of growth and development with ALL of my students and I hope to transfer those strategies into my teaching style.   Prior to teaching first grade, I have been with the Upper Merion Area School District for nine years, where I was a per diem, short-term, long-term, and building substitute.

Education:

I earned a dual certificate in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Millersville University in 2007.  I am currently enrolled in West Chester University where I am working towards my Master's Degree for Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) as well as my English as a Second Language (ESL) Specialist Certification.

Home Life:

I was born and raised in West Chester, PA and I currently still reside there. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, visiting my childhood vacation home in Long Beach Island, traveling, reading, fishing, going to concerts, and cooking. I am the middle child and have two brothers, one of which is also a teacher in Tampa, Florida.
