Leslie Clifton & Kim Jackson, Sponsors

The Black Student Union at Upper Merion Area High School strives to promote awareness of African-American history and culture. We provide a safe space for members to share their experiences. We also promote academic excellence and post-secondary planning and success.

Some activities sponsored in the past include:

    • Local community service
    • Soul Food feast
    • Participation in Diversity Day
    • Participation in the Student Leadership conference at the University of Pennsylvania sponsored by the Delaware Valley Consortium on Excellence and Equity
    • Attending the Reach One to Teach One Conference at Montgomery County Community College
Members of the BSU must be motivated to achieve academic success and maintain good character.  We meet weekly on Wednesday mornings in room B100.  About once a month we have after school meetings. We send updates on our Schoology page.
    Please come join us!
