    Hello and welcome to my webpage! My name is Susan Kelly and I teach English as a Second Language at Gulph Elementary School. Within the Upper Merion Area School District, I have taught at Caley Elementary School, Roberts Elementary School, Bridgeport Elementary School and Upper Merion Area High School.  Prior to coming to UMASD, I taught for 16 years in New Jersey. I earned my BA in International Languages and Business from the University of Scranton and my MA in Urban Education and English as a Second Language from New Jersey City University. I was part of an academic coaching cohort at Eastern University, and most recently I completed my M. Ed. in Educational Leadership at Arcadia University.  I consider myself to be a lifelong learner. I have been teaching since 1994 and have enjoyed every minute of it!
    I am originally from New Jersey but now live in Havertown with my husband and our two Beagle rescue pups, Jingle and Jangle. I am a very proud aunt to a beautiful niece and 4 cool  nephews. They continue to inspire me each and every day. 
     
    Here are a few tidbits about me:
    • My favorite color is purple, green is a close second.
    • Christmas is my favorite holiday.
    • The fall is my favorite season...........along with football season!
    • I am not a Giants or Jets fan......GO EAGLES!
    • I love to cook and bake.
    • My favorite books are children's books and cookbooks, and I have lots of them!
    • I wish I had more of a green thumb, but I do enjoy digging in the yard and planting flowers.
    • I am the youngest of 3 children, and the only girl!
    • I've met Mo Willems and Vera B. Williams.....do you know what they've written?
    • I am and always will be a "Jersey Girl" and enjoy spending time at the shore.
    • My favorite way to relax is reading a book at the beach.
    • I once went skydiving (and thankfully I am still here to talk about it!)
    • I have recently discovered Yoga and love it.....Namaste.

    I look forward to another rewarding school year in Upper Merion, working with some of the most dedicated professionals in education.
