¡Bienvenidos a la clase de Español!
Hola, my name is Neena Swartz and this is my sixteenth year teaching in the Upper Merion Area School District. I teach Spanish 2 at the high school in the mornings and finish my day at the middle school teaching 7th and 8th grade Spanish. I am looking forward to working with my former students as well as meeting many new students this year.
I am a Temple University graduate and I completed my Master's Degree at Chestnut Hill College in Secondary Education. Before coming to this district I was a substitute teacher in the Philadelphia and Colonial School Districts, and a long-term substitute in the Upper Moreland School District.
I believe that the best way to learn Spanish is by immersion in the language. I have studied in Spain, Mexico, and Costa Rica, and travel often to keep my conversational skills fresh. For this reason I will try to conduct the majority of my lessons in Spanish. If you do not understand everything I say in Spanish, it is OKAY!!!! Please feel comfortable asking questions! I don't expect everybody to understand everything, the more you hear it, the better you will become.
I believe that students succeed when there is communication and cooperation between school and home. Throughout the year, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me by email (NSwartz@umasd.org), or by phone (610-205-8800). I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
I MUCH PREFER TO COMMUNICATE BY EMAIL, AS I AM USUALLY IN MANY DIFFERENT PLACES DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A PHONE CONFERENCE, PLEASE EMAIL ME TO SCHEDULE ONE AT YOUR CONVENIENCE.
