About Me
Name: Joseph HeinzSchool: Upper Merion High SchoolRoom No.: A324/A325Position: Mathematics TeacherEmail: jheinz@umasd.org
I've been a mathematics teacher for 26 years. I've taught General Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Physics, and Consumer Math. I have a Bachelors of Education in Physics and Mathematics from Kutztown University and a Masters of Education in Administration from Temple University.
I grew up in both Philadelphia (Frankford) and Oley, PA. I spent half of my youth on a skate board. I enjoy rock climbing, ice climbing, mountain biking, cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, alpine climbing, road biking, kayaking/canoeing, whitewater kayaking, and backpacking. If it is outdoors, I'm in for it. I'm an internationally certified rock climbing guide (AMGA SPI) in the summer. If it is a sport, I'm in for that too. I don't miss an Eagles or Sixers game. Movies: luv em. I've become absorbed by Social Media...can you rescue me please? I have 3 girls and one boy: Sarah, Rachel, Benjamin, and Leah. My wife is still the love of my life after 21 years. I was in the Army for 8 years: Infantry (5 years) and then the Reserve Army Band (3 years). I play the saxophone, harmonica, drums, world percussion, and guitar. I like to listen to any type of music. I whistle like a pro.
