• Welcome to the Gulph Counselor's Corner!

    Dear Upper Merion Elementary Families,

We wanted to connect with you because we are thinking about you! Here are a few things your elementary school counselors want to remind you about...

It is totally normal to be feeling lots of different emotions right now - sadness, worry, fear, anxiety, loneliness, etc.  Kids and adults are feeling so many of these right now and it’s ok. Talk with each other about it! Draw about it or write about it. Remember to practice your belly breathing (smell the flower, blow out the birthday candle) and other strategies that we have practiced to calm your brain and body. Staying active can also help with your emotions!

We are still here to support you even though you can’t see us!  Parents and students both, please email us if you have questions, concerns or just want to connect.  We care about you!

    Caley Elementary - bmicucci@umasd.org

    Candlebrook Elementary - syacovetti@umasd.org

    Gulph Elementary - jvicente@umasd.org

    Roberts Elementary - kegallagher@umasd.org

We will get through this together!  When the district sends information about academic work, you will get some social emotional materials as well.   These should be feel-good and self-care activities for students and families during this tough time. Don’t stress out about them but if you want to record your “bingos” and bring them back to school to show us how much you accomplished, feel free to do so!
