In 2005, I completed my undergraduate degree from Villanova University. This is my eighteenth year teaching at Upper Merion Area High School. I received my master's in education from Villanova University, and my ABD in Curriculum, Instruction, and Staff Development from Widener University.
My two certifications, in English and in social studies, allow me to combine two of my passions. These two areas are not mutually exclusive, and they should not be treated as such. How could literature be read without analyzing the history and societal context of the piece being read? How would history be told or society described without representations through various forms of writing and literature?
In addition to teaching, I am one of the SADD sponsors and the ASA sponsor. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, especially my eight year old son, Evan, and my six year old son, Parker, who always keep me on my toes! Writing in a variety of forms, dancing, playing tennis, traveling, and, yes, watching reality TV (Big Brother and Amazing Race in particular) are some of the things I love to do. My favorite band is the Counting Crows, and one of my favorite books is Hope in the Dark by Rebecca Solnet.

    Quotes to Contemplate:

" The learning and knowledge that we have is, at the most, but little compared with that of which we are ignorant." -Plato
" We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." -Winston Churchill
