General News:
The Middle School Black Student Union will be having our 1st meeting of the school year on Thursday 9/21 at 3:15 pm. Both old and new members are welcome, please complete the google form on the grade level guidance page to show your interest.
In case you aren't familiar with the BSU. The Upper Merion Middle School Black Student Union is dedicated to encouraging positive and productive representation of the Black Community. We promote proactive leadership, academic achievement, community outreach, and student empowerment.
We are a safe space for students to share their celebrations and struggles, while having adults to help coach them through activities. Last year we had field trips, guest speakers, a teen summit book summit with 2 local middle schools, and performed at the MLK Celebration. Each monthly meeting we present Good Black News or short black history, play games, have academic check-ins, and enjoy eachothers company. We will sometimes have activities with the High School BSU to make connections.
If you're interested in being a part of the BSU fill out the google form, then look for the BSU schoology course to pop up in Schoology. Meeting information will be there. Any questions you can email Mrs. Laucella.
