School: Roberts Elementary School
Room Number: 123
Position: Special Education Learning Support Teacher
Hello! My name is Alexis Schwartz and I am joining the Roberts Elementary School team as a Learning Support Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year! This will be my second year at Upper Merion Area School District, but my first year with my very own group of students. Prior to Roberts, I was a Special Education Substitute Teacher at Candlebrook Elementary and Upper Merion Area High School, and a Daily Building Report at Gulph Elementary. While at Gulph, I coached Girls on the Run and co-hosted a Literacy Night for students and their families. Additionally, I have taught Extended School Year for two summers as well. I have absolutely loved all of my experiences here in the district and I am excited to continue my career here at Upper Merion!
I recieved my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Kutztown University with certifications in Special Education PreK-8 and Elementary Education PreK-4. I plan to go back for my Masters of Education with a concentration in Educational Leadership.
I grew up in Medford, New Jersey (right outside of Cherry Hill) before moving to Pennsylvania in 2017. I will be getting married this summer to my fiancé, Rob and we have a Charcoal Lab named Auggie. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and going down the shore.
I am so excited to begin this school year and to work with both you and your child. Email is the best form of communication, as I check it throughout the day. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns!
