• Hello Gulph Elementary School Families,


    I would like to take a minute to welcome everyone to the Gulph Elementary School family. Our school is in the final stages of preparation for the upcoming 2018-19 school year and our teachers and staff are very excited to begin preparing our classrooms for the arrival of students on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018. 

    Within the next week or so, you should be receiving several important pieces of information.


    First, you will be receiving a letter from me, which includes the 2018-19 classroom assignment for children who are in grades 1 through grade 4. The correspondence will also contain a Student Data Form. Please make any necessary updates to the data form and send it back to school with your child on the first day of school.


    For families with incoming Kindergarten students, Kindergarten Screening is scheduled for Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Upper Merion Area Middle School. Kindergarten orientation is scheduled for Friday, August 24, 2018, also at the Upper Merion Area Middle School. If you did not receive a Kindergarten Screening appointment letter, please email Mrs. Dorsey at idorsey@umasd.org.


    Second, you will soon be receiving transportation information from our transportation department.


    And, third, children who are in grades 1 through 4 should expect to hear from their classroom teacher as they will want to introduce themselves as well as share information regarding suggested school supplies.


    In addition, we will be holding a PTC organizational meeting on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 at the Upper Merion Area Middle School Cafeteria beginning at 7:00 PM. At this meeting, we will be voting on the Gulph Elementary School PTC Officers as well as begin discussions on developing and adopting PTC bylaws. This will be a great opportunity to begin our partnership in educating and growing our children as we develop our school community.


    Finally, please mark your calendars for the Gulph Elementary School Ribbon Cutting to be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 beginning at 6:00 PM. Please RSVP at www.umasd.org/rc2018.
