Timeline of Events

June 24-26, 2014: SGA sent an architecture and engineering team to visit and evaluate all UMASD facilities: Bridgeport Elementary, Caley Elementary, Candlebrook Elementary, Roberts Elementary, Middle School, High School, Administration Building, Boat House, Belmont School, Gulph School, Bus Garage.

September 4, 2014: Over 75 people attended "What the Public Needs & Wants from Our School Buildings: A Collaborative Idea Exchange."  SGA presented their findings to the community at large.

October 20, 2014: Follow up presentation to discuss enrollment projections and building capacities; High School Auditorium, 7PM

January 7, 2015: Public meeting to discuss options and possible solutions; Middle School Cafeteria, 6PM

February 4, 2015: Public meeting to discuss options, costs, and possible solutions; Middle School Cafeteria, 6PM

March 16, 2015: Public meeting to discuss options, costs, and possible solutions; Middle School Cafeteria, 6PM

May 18, 2015: Public meeting to present recommended option; Middle School Cafeteria, 6PM.  A new enrollment study was commissioned from the Montgomery County Planning Commission.
October 5, 2015: Enrollment Study Presentation; Middle School Auditorium, 7:30 PM
October 19, 2015: Facilities Presentation; High School LGI, 7PM
November 2, 2015: Feasibility Study Discussion; Bridgeport Elementary Multi-Purpose Room, 7:30 PM. At the November Business Meeting the UMASD Board of School Directors authorized the District to negotiate an acceptable Project Architect Agreement with SchraderGroup Architecture LLC for the demolition and construction of a new 525-student elementary school located at the Caley Elementary School site and for the demolition and construction of a new 525-student elementary school located at the Gulph Elementary School site. In addition the Board also authorized the District to negotiate a Construction Management Services Agreement for both projects.
