• About DECA
     
    DECA chapters operate in over 4,500 schools across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam and Canada. With over 175,000 members Deca is endorsed by all 50 state departments of education and The U.S. Department of Education. Membership is restricted to students who want to focus their career goals into the marketing area. District competitions include two parts; a role play and a written test. State competitions include two role plays and one written test.
     
     
     
    About PA Deca
    The teacher-coordinators in Pennsylvania organized Pennsylvania DECA chapters in 1952. In 1960 Pennsylvania DECA was formally chartered as a member of National DECA. Mr. Charles Steadman, teacher-educator at the University of Pittsburgh, accepted the charter on behalf of Mr. Kenneth Pfeiffer, State Supervisor of Distributive Education in Pennsylvania. By 1999 there were 72 DECA Chapters in Pennsylvania with a total membership of over 3,000.
