Upper Merion Area Middle School Student Support Services
In addition to the guidance services provided specifically by Mrs. Donahue, Upper Merion Area Middle School students are fortunate enough to have many additional support services in place. Please review the brief descriptions below. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Donahue for further information.
The P.A.S.S. Team (People for Assistance of Students in Stress) is Upper Merion Area Middle School's Student Assistance Team. The team is comprised of specially-trained staff members who work to identify and refer students who are exhibiting "at risk" behaviors due to substance use/abuse, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, and/or mental health issues (low self-esteem, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc.). Referrals to the P.A.S.S. Team can be made by Upper Merion Area Middle School staff members, students, parents, or other individuals who are concerned about a particular student. A partnership with Central Montgomery MH/MR enables the P.A.S.S. Team to work collaboratively with an outside agency to find the best support for our referred students.
Achievers Club is an afterschool program that provides homework assistance to students who struggle completing their academic work independently. Teachers, administrators, and counselors refer specific students who would benefit. This club is not meant for students who are capable to completing the work independently without assistance. A parent permission form must be completed for a child to participate 1-2 afternoons per week. If you have questions, please contact me.
