  • UPPER MERION AREA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

    Mission Statement

The Upper Merion Area Educational Foundation (UMAEF) is committed to the continuing advancement of public education in the Upper Merion Area School District, by providing funds for educational programs and activities through engagement and collaboration with parents, school staff, businesses, and community members, so that every child is given the opportunity to thrive in a rigorous, engaging, and dynamic environment.

We will achieve our mission by generating independent funding and developing community partnerships to recognize and encourage student and staff innovation and excellence.

We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, funded through donations and annual fundraising events.  The purpose of the Foundation is to offer grants to teachers in the Upper Merion Area School District, via an application process, that supplement as well as complement basic educational programs in the areas of Technology, Arts, Scholastic Enhancement and Cultural Enrichment.

We are looking for those in our community who are passionate about improving public schools and the education of our children. If you are interested in joining the Foundation as a board member or just want to volunteer your skills and time for specific events or activities, please contact us at UMAEFinfo@gmail.com.

UMAEF Virtual Viking 5K 2021 – We did it!

The Upper Merion Area Educational Foundation would like to thank everyone who participated and/or donated to our Viking Virtual 5K & Family Fun Run.  It was  heart-warming and exhilarating to see so many of you completing the race and sharing with us your accomplishment!

Thanks to our sponsors, local businesses and all those who donated to our Foundation.  The list is available on the race website.  Despite the challenges of a virtual race, we raised over $8,000!  The money will go directly to teacher-initiated projects benefiting students in all seven schools of the Upper Merion Area School District!

Finally, we want to congratulate the winner of the elementary school classroom competition: Ms. Kilian’s’ kindergarten class at Roberts!  The entire class will get a cool Kona Ice party donated by Kona Ice KoP!

Thank you again for supporting our Foundation, and we look forward to seeing everyone in-person next year at our 7th Annual Viking 5K!

    Have a spectacular summer!

Visit us on Facebook to get the latest about our Foundation and fundraising events. If you are interested in joining our Board or volunteering at our future events, please email UMAEFinfo@gmail.com.
