    Jazz Poster Artist: Rachel Berman '12

  • Jazz Band rehearses every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30-4pm starting in late November.

    We will travel to several festivals and host our own Jazz Show, the Gold N' Blues in February.

  • JAZZ BAND INFORMATION

    Do you play an instrument like guitar, electric bass, piano, and more? Do you love jazz music? If you answered yes, then consider auditioning for Jazz Band! 

    The jazz band rehearses twice a week and performs at various jazz festivals at area high schools, hosts a jazz fest here at Upper Merion, and even travels to places like Rehoboth! 

    If you are interested, scroll down and click on the pdf of your part (found on this page), practice it, and sign up for an audition slot! 

    Auditions will be held the week of November 14th. A sign-up genius will be created to sign up for a slot.

    There are limited spots available, and the ability to read music is a must. Auditionees who are selected for Jazz Band will be notified before Winter Break.

  • AUDITION MUSIC

    The audition piece this year is "Skyliner" by Charlie Barnet (arr. Sammy Nestico).

    Scroll down and click on the pdf and scroll to the part you would like to audition for.  Practice Measures 17 - 39, take the Coda and play to the end. 

    When you feel you are sufficiently prepared, sign up for an audition slot for the week of 11/14.

    Audition results will be posted/announced as early as 11/21.

    Guitar, Bass, Piano, and Drums have two spots for alternates/trade-offs.
