I am excited to begin my ninth year teaching science at Upper Merion Area High School! I previously taught students with a variety of learning styles and abilities at Upper Merion Area Middle School and at several schools within the School District of Philadelphia. I am also entering my first year as the high school's Forensics sponsor.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism with a minor in English from California State University, Sacramento, and my Master of Arts Degree in Special Education from Chestnut Hill College. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in the newspaper industry as a journalist.

My experience as a writer and a lifelong reader is incorporated into my daily instruction. Students are taught and expected to practice a variety of reading and note-taking strategies and will be supported as they write, revise and publish multi-paragraph essays and research papers. I provide and teach the use of guided notes and graphic organizers to ensure that all students are in the best position to succeed.  By the end of the school year, students will have multiple tools that will help them throughout their academic careers.

I'm looking forward to a fun and productive year!
