MATH HIGHLIGHTS
• Advanced Placement Courses
o The department offers a rigorous Honors program leading to AP Calculus and AP Statistics
• PSSA Remediation
o Staffed with a Mathematics teacher, instructional support classes meet with a goal of improving math skills. Cognitive Tutor, a tutorial software program is the primary tool aiding the teacher. Those students who score basic or below basic in the PSSA are enrolled in these classes.
• SAT and PSSA preparation
o Math Instruction at all levels incorporates SAT and PSSA initiatives including problem solving and writing within the math curriculum. There is also a separate elective course designed to help student prepare for the SAT.
