The Black Student Union at Upper Merion Area High School strives to promote awareness of African-American history and culture.
Some activities sponsored in the past include:
- Community service projects at the Norristown Salvation Army
- Soul Food feast
- Participation in Diversity Day
- Participation in the Student Leadership conference at the University of Pennsylvania sponsored by the Delaware Valley Minority Student Achievement Consortium
- Attending the Reach One to Teach One Conference at Montgomery County Community College
- Donating baked goods to a local nursing home
- Babysitting for district parent programs
All students are invited to be members of the BSU. We meet most Tuesday mornings at 7 a.m. in room B100. Please come join us!
