I teach technology education to 5th through 8th grade students. I have been teaching at the middle school since 1993. Before that, I taught woodworking for one year in the high school.
My experience at the middle school started as a traditional metal shop teacher. My role here has gone through quite an evolution.

Technology Education teaches more than just tools skills. Students learn how to think technologically, how to use, design and engineer, assess and predict performance and impacts of technology. They do this while learning about a vast array of technologies from robots and wind tunnels to LASERs and fiberoptics and pneumatics as well as tools, machines and processes of manufacturing.
This year we welcome Mr. Cullen to the middle school department of technology education. Mr. Cullen comes to us with a lot of great experiences and ideas. I am very much looking forard to working with Mr. Cullen to provide our students with a lot of cool new learning opprtunities.
Aside from my teaching experience, I also have worked as a carpenter, metal worker, painter, lab technician, even Christmas tree harvester. Teaching middle school technology is the best job I could imagine myself ever having. I enjoy the subject and the students.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy my family and being active in my church. My hobbies include motorcycling, music, weightlifting and fitness. I am also a big NASCAR fan which certainly enters into our class discussions about aerodynamics. You can meet my family and me at our family web site.
